Leading Chinese international companies are actively developing corporate citizenship efforts as they expand their global footprint, according to the report released in 2012 by the World Economic Forum. Prepared in partnership with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and titled Emerging Best Practices of Chinese Globalizers: The Corporate Global Citizenship Challenge, the report gives examples of how Chinese globalizers are aligning their profits with real and lasting contributions to the local communities in which they operate. Development Plan for China’s International Service Outsourcing Industry (2011-2015)
China’s Outline of the 12th Five-year Plan for National Economy and Social Development definitely proposes to “vigorously develop service outsourcing and establish several service outsourcing bases”. Recently, the Ministry of Commerce and National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the Outline of Development Plan for China’s International Service Outsourcing Industry (2011-2015) (hereinafter referred to as the “Outline of Plan”). The Outline of Plan, China’s first development plan specially targeted at the service outsourcing industry, is inevitably generated and internally required by the progress of China’s service outsourcing industry from start point to accelerated orderly development. Financial Statistics 2012 issued by the People’s Bank of China
The preliminary financial statistics 2012 prepared by the People’s Bank of China (PBC) is out as below. Data for the current period are preliminary figures. As of October 2011, monetary aggregates have included deposits of housing provident fund centers and non-depository financial institutions’ deposits with depository financial institutions. Bold measures for a cleaner Hong Kong
The Chief Executive, Mr. C Y Leung, unveiled a raft of bold measures to improve air quality and the environment in his Policy Address on January 16.

Exhibition showcase prosperous Canton trade and Guangdong culture in 18th and 19th centuries
In the 18th and 19th centuries Canton was the only Chinese port conducting foreign maritime trade. During this period the “Thirteen Hongs” of Canton emerged as the main drivers of economic and cultural interaction between China and the West, enabling the Hongs’ leading merchants to become very wealthy. To showcase the prosperity of Canton trade and culture of Guangdong during this period, the “Thirteen Hongs of Canton: Selected Pictures and Documents Exhibition” will feature digital images of precious historical pictures and documents including Canton trading vessels, the tea trade and scenic views of the Thirteen Hongs trade areas. Who roams in the flat world?

In 2005, Thomas L. Friedman, a New York Times columnist, released his best seller “The World Is Flat”. This book displays very keen observation with respect to globalization. What Friedman means by “flat” is “connected”: the lowering of trade and political barriers and the exponential technical advances of the digital revolution have made it possible to do business instantaneously with billions of other people across the world.
