Initial FDI in mainland China of 2013

According to the statistics, in January 2013, Newly Approved Foreign-invested Enterprises amounted to 1,883, up by 34.31% year on year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached US$ 9.27 billion, down by 7.27% year on year.

In January, 2013, the number of newly established enterprises funded by ten Asian countries/regions (Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, ROK) was 1,475, up by 33.48% year on year, and the actual input were US$ 7.816 billion, down by 8.97% year on year. The number of newly established enterprises funded by US was 94, up by 9.3% year on year, and the actual input were US$ 0.273 billion, down by 19.97% year on year. Number of enterprises funded by EU was 140, up by 30.84% year on year, and the actual input was US$ 0.821 billion, up by 81.81% year on year. Continue reading

SSE’s Direct Channel Business Guidelines

On the 19th of February, 2013, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) publishes the “SSE Business Guidelines on Direct Channel for Information Disclosure” (the “SSE Guidelines on Direct Channel” for short), and the training and implementation of the SSE’s Direct Channel business for listed companies’ information disclosure begin simultaneously. Cross-strait financial supervision

At the Taiwanese Executive Yuan meeting of February 21, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) delivered a report on the recent meeting between securities regulators from Taiwan and mainland China, which Taiwanese Premier Jiang Yi-huah hailed as a breakthrough in financial supervisory cooperation. The January 29 meeting, held in Taipei by the FSC and the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), was the first of its kind on the cross-strait supervisory platform for securities and futures. New Taiwanese Premier

The new Taiwanese cabinet was sworn-in on February 18th, the first work day after the Chinese New Year holiday. Dr. Jiang, Yi-huah was appointed by President Ma to lead the new cabinet. Dr. Jiang used to be the vice premier of the outgoing Premier Sean Chen. He was born in 1960 and used to be a political science professor. The following is his biography. Continue reading
