Fast food and takeaways in Chinese market
According to a new report released by Mintel, the fast food and takeaway market is expected to reach RMB 1.8 trillion by 2017 largely bolstered by rising economic power in lower-tier cities. This growth compounds growth in recent years; the value of the fast food market in China doubled between 2007-2012 to reach RMB 1 trillion with 80% growth in outlet numbers since 2007. Large volumes of transactions in cultural industry
The 9th Session of China (Shenzhen) International Fair on Cultural Industry was held in Shenzhen from May 17 to 20. The Fair hit a record high in the volume of transactions, amounting to 166.502 billion Yuan in total, among which, export reached 12.382 billion Yuan. The volume of transactions that are over 100 million Yuan were 162 in number, and value of contracts reached 116.466 billion Yuan in total. Continue reading

Sinovac Beijing obtains China GMP certificate
Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (NASDAQ: SVA), a leading provider of biopharmaceutical products in China, announced that Sinovac Beijing, the main operating subsidiary company of Sinovac, obtained the Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practices for Pharmaceutical Products (GMP Certificate) from the China State and Food Administration (CFDA) for its proprietary vaccines, its Haidian district bulk production plants, and its Changping filing and packaging facility. The GMP certificate covers Sinovac Beijing’s vaccines commercialized in China and approved for stockpiling, inclusive of hepatitis A vaccine (human diploid cell), inactivated; hepatitis A and B combined vaccine; influenza vaccine (split virion), inactivated; pandemic influenza vaccine (inactivated, adjuvanted); pandemic influenza vaccine (split virion,adjuvanted); H1N1 influenza A vaccine (Split Virion, inactivated) The GMP certificate is valid for five years starting from April 17, 2013. Disputes over Chinese solar panel products and wireless communications network
On May 27th, Mr. Zhong Shan, China International Trade Representative, led a Chinese government delegation to Brussels, headquarters of the European Union, where he held meetings with EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht and Director General for Trade Jean-Luc Demarty respectively to make representations regarding the bilateral trade disputes over Chinese solar panel products and wireless communications network.
