The 9th Session of China (Shenzhen) International Fair on Cultural Industry was held in Shenzhen from May 17 to 20. The Fair hit a record high in the volume of transactions, amounting to 166.502 billion Yuan in total, among which, export reached 12.382 billion Yuan. The volume of transactions that are over 100 million Yuan were 162 in number, and value of contracts reached 116.466 billion Yuan in total.
According to the statistics, 2,118 exhibitors from official delegations, enterprises and institutions participated in the Fair, an increase of 190 compared with 1,928 in the last session; and 16,347 buyers from 93 countries and regions visited the Fair.
At the same time, a series of activities including the Policy Symposium on the Promotion of Culture and Trade as well as Foreign Cultural Cooperation, Annual Meeting 2013 on International Marketing of Chinese Cultural Products and International Forum 2013 on Culture and Trade were held correspondingly, and had achieved good results. The Fair also provided an opportunity to foster and display new types of platforms such as culture plus science and technology and culture plus tourism. The Composite Pavilion set up an exhibition area for new cultural industry for the first time and over 60 enterprises from 16 bases as the first batch of the integration demonstration of national culture and science as well as technology exhibited altogether.
The Pavilion for Cultural tourism was independently set up for the first time, focusing on the exhibitions of overseas well-known tourist enterprises including Overseas ChineseTown and Hong Kong Disney. During the Fair, investment and financing in cultural industry reached 92.069 billion Yuan, accounting for 55.30% of the total transaction value, covering all major fields of cultural industry. The Fair was jointly-sponsored by Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Commerce, State Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, and this Session was sponsored by MOFCOM.
