The current King of Taiwan Stock Exchange is Largan Precision. It hit 85 USD per share recently.
Largan Precision was founded in 1987 by Mr. Scott Lin and Mr. Tony Chen, and went public in 2002. Group headquarter is located in Taichung Precision Machinery Technological Park, Taiwan. The company currently owns four factories in Taiwan, two in China, and is known as one of the world’s major players in plastic aspherical lens design and production. Largan’s products are widely distributed globally; product lines include but are not limited to lens for mobile phones, NB/laptops, tablets, automobiles, and digital cameras (DSC).

1991 | Leading Taiwanese company to introduce UPL, developed manufacturing skills, and successfully produced plastic aspherical lens. |
1992 | First to develop Hybrid lens applied in traditional cameras and enter mass production. |
1993 | Started manufacturing development program ‘Cameras Fitted With Auto-focusing F35-70 mm zoom lenses’ authorized by the Industrial Development Bureau Ministry of Economic Affairs. |
1995 | Awarded “Top Ten Companies in Industrial Automation in 1995” by the Ministry of Economic Affairs R.O.C. Mr. Lee Teng-hui, former President of R.O.C, visited headquarters in Taichung. Invested in new factory in Dongguan in order to increase productivity, reduce cost, and expand market share. |
1997 | Pioneered the development of Hybrid lens in scanners and bar-codes. Successfully developed high precision optical components applied in projectors. |
1998 | Successfully entered mass-production of hybrid scanner lens. First Taiwanese company to develop 2X view finder and enter mass production. Developed hybrid lens applied in digital cameras. Developed and offered a series of high precision optical components used in SVCD and VCDs. |
1999 | Integrated technology platforms, IBM hardware and ERP system to coordinate and integrate business processes across the entire group. Produced 400 dpi scanner lens. Produced world-leading 600 dpi scanner hybrid lens. Developed autofocus module for digital camera. Developed high precision optical components and assemblies applied in DVDs. |
2000 | First Taiwanese company to develop 4X view finder and enter mass production. |
2001 | Certified as a compliant of ISO 90001. Merged with “Largan Optronic Co.,Ltd. to ensure sustained growth and scale to enhance company’s competitiveness. |
2002 | Publicly listed in Taiwan Stock Exchange(TWSE) on March 11. Operational headquarters was approved in September. Developed projector zoom lens Developed VGA lens used in mobile phones. Developed 3.0 Megapixels 3x zoom digital camera lens. |
