The 2015 China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) Tourism Exhibition, jointly organized by China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is scheduled to be staged in Guilin, Guangxi, from May 29 to 31, 2015. It’s expected to attract around 800 companies and over 300 overseas buyers in addition to visitors from nearly 50 countries and regions.
The tourism exhibition, themed on “Developing Tourism for the 21st Century for the Maritime Silk Road”, aims at building a world-renowned exhibition that promotes tourism communication & cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, and a global tourism cooperation platform with regional characteristics. The exhibition will cover 23,000 square meters and provide nearly 1,000 exhibition booths, divided into five zones: the international tourism exhibition zone, domestic tourism exhibition zone, local tourism exhibition zone, international tourism products exhibition zone and tourism consumption exhibition zone, with the first two taking up over 70% of the exhibition area. The exhibition will feature tourism images, tourism consumption, high-tech tourism, and tourism commodities. What’s noteworthy is that there will be a special zone dedicated to ASEAN countries to showcase their tourism resources and tourism industry.
In recent years, along with the construction of the China-ASEAN Freed Trade Area (CAFTA), the tourism industry has been growing rapidly in China and ASEAN countries which have become a major origin of tourists for each other. Considering the vast prospects of China-ASEAN tourism cooperation, the Organizing Committee for the 11th CAEXPO in China decided to host the annual CAEXPO tourism exhibition in Guilin, Guangxi from 2015 and invite the 10 ASEAN countries to participate and take turns to act as the Guest of Honor. The exhibition receives full support from both the CNTA and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
