China Brand Expo 2015, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, opened in St. Paulo, Brazil on July 20. Consul-General of China’s embassy to St. Paulo Chen Xi, official of Trade Development Bureau of MOFCOM Wu Tongdiao, and vice mayor of Zhongshan Municipal People’s Government Yang Wenlong attended and addressed the opening ceremony, and also attending were guests from Association of Importer and Exporter of Brazil, Chamber of Commerce of St. Paulo, St.Paulo Industry Union, and St. Paulo Investment Promotion Agency.
The expo was undertaken by the Trade Development Bureau of MOFCOM, and co-sponsored by China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products. With 139 exhibitors, the expo covers an area of 5,000 square meters, its exhibition including home appliance, communication products and home supplies.
The expo set up a special zone for publicizing the brand enterprises for machinery and electronic products, displaying enterprise image and partial products in electronic, communications and home supplies industry. The expo also set up MOFCOM 12335 one-stop information service platform to provide consulting service for exhibitors. Media such as People’s Daily and Global, the largest media in local district also gave report on the expo.
Zhongshan Municipal People’s Government held a matchmaking meeting for senior officials of enterprises from cities of Zhongshan and St. Paulo in the Chamber of Commerce of St. Paulo on the afternoon of July 20. Wu Tongdiao attended and addressed the meeting.
In order to accelerate the cultivation of new advantages for foreign trade competition and support enterprises to expand the Latin American markets, the MOFCOM started to hold the China Brand Expo since 2014， strengthen publicizing and promoting products of self-owned brand, greatly improve the image of China’s exports to Latin America, and make close communication and cooperation between Chinese and Latin American enterprises.
