The G20 Green Finance Synthesis Report underway
On June 21, 2016, the fourth meeting of the G20 Green Finance Study Group was held in Xiamen. The meeting was hosted by Co-chairs from the People’s Bank of China and the Bank of England. Delegates from G20 countries, invited guest countries and International Organizations participated in the meeting. The delegates discussed and agreed in principle on the G20 Green Finance Synthesis Report, which would be submitted to the June G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies Xiamen Meeting. The study group will further revise and submit the Report to the July G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Chengdu Meeting. Continue reading

1. We, the G20 Agriculture Ministers, met today in Xi’an to discuss how G20 members can promote food security, nutrition, sustainable agricultural growth, and rural development worldwide and contribute towards building an innovative, invigorated, interconnected and inclusive world economy to fully achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including eradicating hunger and extreme poverty. With extreme weather appears more frequently and the summer gets hotter and hotter, climate change and global warming have become more like a reality for most earthlings. So green is the hippest word in recent years and a lot of things have gone green. For instance, there are green buildings. Green, or sustainable, building is the practice of creating and using healthier and more resource-efficient models of construction, renovation, operation, maintenance and demolition. There is green finance, which means providing the financial incentives to cultivate the growth of green industries. And in responding to the outcry for environmental conservation, I can say we also have green recreation, which is indeed an area that needs investment as well. Continue reading
