Chengdu expected to achieve 8.21 Billion Yuan in revenue from exhibition in 2016

Chengdu is scheduled to be the host city for more than 520 major exhibition events for the whole year of 2016. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Chengdu Sub-Council (CCPIT Chengdu), the organization responsible for the promotion of Chengdu as a city for conventions and exhibitions, has calculated that the total area occupied by all of the events, when added together, amounts to 3.3 million square meters. Revenue directly generated from the exhibition sector is anticipated to grow 10 per cent year on year to reach 8.21 billion yuan (approx. US$1.23 billion). Indirect revenue is also expected to grow by a similar percentage, with expectations that the combination of direct and indirect revenue will reach 69.7 billion yuan (approx. US$10.5 billion). The 6th WTO policy review of China completed

On July 22, the 6th WTO policy review of China was smoothly completed in Geneva. The Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce, Wang Shouwen attended the meeting with the Chinese Delegation. He introduced the condition of China’s economy, trading investment, main revolution and actions of opening since the last deliberation in 2014. The Chinese ambassador in WTO attended the deliberation. Continue reading

Air China to launch Chengdu-Sydney service

On August 25, 2016, Air China held a press conference in Chengdu, announcing that their Chengdu-Sydney service will begin on November 11, 2016. After the launch of Chengdu-Frankfurt and Chengdu-Paris flights, this route is Air China’s third intercontinental flight based in its Chengdu hub, and also its first nonstop service between western China and Oceania. Not only will travelers flying out of Chengdu be able to directly fly to the sunny port city of Sydney, but people from cities all across western China including Xi’an, Kunming, Urumchi, Guiyang, Lanzhou, and Xining can also fly from Chengdu to travel to the southern hemisphere. Mayor of Chongqing

Huang Qifan was born in 1952 and is the current Mayor of Chongqing, one of China’s four directly-controlled municipalities, equivalent in rank to that of a provincial governor. Huang began his political career in Shanghai and was transferred to Chongqing in 2001 as its Deputy Mayor, before being promoted to Mayor in 2010. Continue reading

Macau has done fabulously in terms of economy in the past decade alongside the eruption of Chinese economy. Macau has basically turned itself into China’s Las Vegas.
