China-US jointly support African Disease Prevention and Control Center
Nov. 23 (US time), on the sidelines of the 27th China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade, with the witness of Chinese Premier Wang Yang and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman, Deputy China International Trade Representative Zhang Xiangchen, Deputy Director of National Health and Family Planning Commission Wang Hesheng and Head of U.S. Agency for International Development Smith, Assistant Minister of United States Department of Health and Human Services and Assistant Director of U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention jointly signed a MOU on Supporting African Disease Prevention and Control Center among Chinese Ministry of Commerce, National Health and Family Planning Commission, and U.S. Agency for International Development, United States Department of Health and Human Services and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. IRONMAN 70.3 Xiamen wrap up successfully
The coastal city of Xiamen provided a scenic and challenging setting for athletes at the first-edition of the Xiamen Bank IRONMAN® 70.3® Xiamen on November 13. In sunny and hot conditions, thousands of spectators helped cheer Josh Amberger (AUS) and Jeanni Seymour (ZAF) onto exciting victories at the inaugural race in the Fujian province. Amberger bested the men’s field with an overall time of 03:56:51, while Seymour took top honors in the women’s race with a time of 4:24:03. Li Pengcheng finished as the top athlete from the host country of China, crossing the line with a time 04:30:53, good for 16th place overall. Continue reading

Nothing hurts economy more than epidemics

When we talked about the impact of epidemics on economy, the most frequently cited example would be the SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) epidemic in 2003. Almost 14 years have passed since SARS, many young people around 20 years old cannot even recall this experience. But there is no lack of new incident.
