An open China: Read Sichuan, Feel the World

On September 28, 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) held the 4th event presenting Chinese provinces at the Blue Hall of the Ministry with the theme of “An open China: Read Sichuan, Feel the World”. Foreign Minister Wang Yi delivered a speech. Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China Wang Dongming made remarks and Governor of the People’s Government of Sichuan Province Yin Li gave the presentation. Nearly 600 people including diplomatic envoys and representatives in China from over 140 countries and global organizations, business and industrial representatives, Chinese and foreign experts and scholars, and journalists were present at the event. Air China to launch Chengdu-Sydney service

On August 25, 2016, Air China held a press conference in Chengdu, announcing that their Chengdu-Sydney service will begin on November 11, 2016. After the launch of Chengdu-Frankfurt and Chengdu-Paris flights, this route is Air China’s third intercontinental flight based in its Chengdu hub, and also its first nonstop service between western China and Oceania. Not only will travelers flying out of Chengdu be able to directly fly to the sunny port city of Sydney, but people from cities all across western China including Xi’an, Kunming, Urumchi, Guiyang, Lanzhou, and Xining can also fly from Chengdu to travel to the southern hemisphere. 7th Cross-Straits Bicycle Exhibition in Taiwan

On March 2-5, the Association of Economy and Trade Across Taiwan Straits (AETATS) held the 6th Cross-Straits Bicycle Exhibition at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall. 29 enterprises from 8 provinces including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Hebei and Fujian took part in the exhibition. China to build and renovate toilets totaling 25,000 in 2016

According to the deployment plan of the 2016 work conference on nationwide toilet revolution, China is set to build, expand and renovate a total of 25,000 toilets, including 17,000 to be built and 8,000 to be expanded and renovated. The toilets along travel routes and in the tourist attractions, transportation hubs, rural scenic spots, restaurants and entertainment centers catering to tourists and pedestrian precincts are all required to reach the standard for the A-level tourist toilet. 2nd Macao Printmaking Triennial

As one of the four great inventions of ancient China, it is well-known that printing has had a historical significance. The art of printmaking which can trace its history to over a thousand years ago is therefore of great importance and has become a prevailing artistic medium nowadays. Taiwan’s National Palace Museum Southern Branch to enrich education and culture
