2012 TIPO Patent and Trademark Applications

In 2012, TIPO received a total of 85,073 patent applications and 74,357 trademark applications from all over the world, marking a steady increase of 2.5% and 10.0% respectively over the previous year. 2013 Tour de Taiwan

The 2013 Tour de Taiwan was jointly held by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and Chinese Taipei Cycling Association at the Dapeng Bay, Siraya, Southwest Coast, Tri-Mountain, North Coast and Guanyinshan national scenic areas, bringing together 23 teams and 184 top athletes from 30 countries on five continents. China’s New President

Xi Jinping was elected president of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the PRC at the fourth plenary meeting of the first session of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) in Beijing, capital of China, March 14, 2013. 

Xi Jinping, born in June 1953, is a male ethnic Han from Fuping, Shaanxi Province. He entered the workforce in January 1969 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in January 1974. He graduated from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tsinghua University with a major in Marxist theory and ideological and political education, has an in-service postgraduate education and holds the degree of Doctor of Laws. This year’s BRICS Leaders’ meeting put forward the idea of establishing a development bank for this group and other emerging economies. The leaders reasoned that “developing countries face challenges of infrastructure development due to insufficient long-term financing and foreign direct investment, especially investment in capital stock”. The leaders promised the contingent reserve arrangement with an initial size of US$ 100 billion. Continue reading
